Sport Development Director, USA Nordic Sports
Over the past year, NNF funds have directly supported our ski jumpers and nordic combined skiers at many levels. These funds have helped cover trip costs from up-and-coming club athletes to unfunded National Team members.
Funded initiatives over the past year include a women’s ski jumping camp in Norway where athletes and coaches learned about women’s specific training, a top ten finish for Jared Shumate at Junior World Championships, and the first ever European training camp for the newly formed Women’s Nordic Combined National Team.
At one point during the month of August over 40 athletes were training in Europe with the support of NNF. Because of this, our team had their best summer of international competition in many years. Athletes, parents, and coaches are incredibly appreciative of the continued support of NNF, which is helping raise the level of ski jumping and nordic combined across the country. The NNF has assisted USA Nordic in its effort to push for gender equity in all disciplines, and become One Team made up of the best ski jumping and nordic combined athletes in the world. Thank you NNF!
The NNF's mission is to support athletic excellence in developing nordic athletes in the United States.
“Thank you for all the support for the OPA Cup trip. I am still trying to figure it all out, something I could never do without the NNF.”- Rosie Brennan
