The National Nordic Foundation’s (NNF) annual Drive for 25 fundraising drive is upcoming this month, starting on Monday, November 20th and running through Giving Tuesday, Tuesday, November 28th. The Drive for 25 (D25) marks a crucial moment in our annual calendar to help power the United States’ grassroots approach to nordic skiing development, and is especially important in continuing the momentum of a successful period in American skiing history that has seen Olympic medals, World Cup titles, Junior World Championship medals, and most importantly, more skiers in more places competing than ever.
The Drive for 25 was started, and remains, NNF’s largest annual fundraising drive. The simple premise behind it is that in a community as expansive and as dedicated as the one that supports nordic skiing in the United States, a simple donation of $25 is amplified to chart a bright future for all those involved in the sport. Last year’s D25 was the largest in our twenty-plus year history, raising $310,000.
NNF is a grassroots movement by American skiers to help develop American skiing. We are at an exciting point in our history as an organization – not only expanding our Pillar Project programming, but also offering new programs, such as the Trail to Gold Coaching Program, that are building a more robust and inclusive approach to sport development. This year’s Drive for 25 will mark an opportunity for the American ski community to capitalize on its successes and set our sport up for success in the years to come.
