The SuperTour continued its circuit through the West last week, stopping in Sun Valley for 3-days of racing. The weekend featured a 15 k classic mass start, classic sprint, and 10 k skate individual start.

On the women’s side, Alaska Pacific University (APU)’s Hailey Swirbul continued her strong start to the season, kicking off the weekend with a win in the 15 k classic before taking 2nd place in the subsequent classic sprint and skate 10 k. University of Utah’s (UU) Sydney Palmer-Leger traded places with Swirbul from Thursday to Saturday, finishing 2nd in the 15 k classic before winning the classic sprint. Alexandra Lawson rounded out the women’s field top performers for Craftsbury, turning in a win in the 10 k skate after finishing in 3rd in the classic sprint.

The men’s field was more wide-open day-to-day in Sun Valley, starting off with a win from Bridger Ski Foundation’s (BSF) Finn O’Connell in the 15 k classic. Skiing for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC), David Norris placed 2nd in both distance races on the weekend, following the 15 k classic up with the 10 k skate on Sunday. University of Utah (UU) Senior Tom Mancini, meanwhile, won the 10 k skate after finishing runner-up in the previous day’s classic sprint. Canadian Xavier McKeever, skiing for the Alberta World Cup Academy, was first in the sprint race.
