Houghton was home to the largest U.S. Cross-Country Ski Championships in history last week, with over 400 skiers from across the country making the trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to compete in four days of racing which also served as Period II for this year’s US SuperTour.

Hailey Swirbul remained the standout preformer of this season so far, sweeping the week of races, picking up three National Championships in the process, and bolstering the APU Nordic Ski Center team in the Overall and Women’s classifications. The consistent performance from Novie McCabe, and Sydney Palmer-Leger, meanwhile, allowed the University of Utah to continue its dominance in the Overall classification.

The University of Utah also saw a slew of top performances from the men’s side. Luke Jager picked up a pair of National Championships in the Classic Sprint and Classic 20 k Mass Start, as Tom Mancini added to the Utes top performers with a podium finish in the SuperTour Skate Sprint. APU, meanwhile, moved up the Overall and Men’s classification over the course of the week, with a slew of skiers forming a consistent presence at the front of field throughout the week.

The SuperTour returns this weekend with a two-day trip to Birkeland in Cable, Wisconsin, where the field will race the Seeley Hills Classic 30 k Mass Start on Saturday, followed by a Classic Sprint on Sunday.
