In the kickoff to a busy summer of training across the country, the top U18 skiers in the country were invited to Whistler, British Columbia, for a week of training on the course of next year’s 2023 FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships.
When we say course, we mean it. With a rollerski loop tracing next year’s course, this camp provided a one-of-a-kind way of visualizing these skiers dreams. It also represents the first national-level camp for many in this age-group, after COVID-19 has forced cancellations for National camps and last winter’s U18 Nordic Nations trips.
With US Ski Team coaches present, the U18s did a week’s worth of competitive training – featuring rollerski intervals, technique sessions, and plenty of exploration of the beautiful Whistler wilderness in between. To read an athlete update from the Midwestern contingent, click here.
